Your expectations of it.
I hope it has like everything Muertos Vivos, Foot In Mouth and How Far Shallow had. But a bit evolved though.. I'm so excited of the new album for myself, Muertos Vivos was a great album, but it kinda missed the "tongue-in-cheek" Gob we've used to hear. So really can't imagine what it'll be at this moment as we have no information from the band about it. But I'm sure there'll be some when they start recording, we'll see...

I have been thinking about this a lot lately, and I think with Tom being in Sum 41 we might be hearing some more stuff similar to Give Up the Grudge, but I think it will be heavy like Muertos Vivos, and there will be some fun in it as well. I believe it will be a really unique CD and it should bring back some of the old fans while keeping the few of us that have followed them all along

I too hope it will be a mix of all the styles the band has played with in the past. I prefer the seriousness and heaviness of Muertos Vivos over the more humoristic, straight up punk sound of their earlier releases, but I realize that what Muertos Vivos was isn't necessarily what Gob is supposed to sound like, at least not entirely. They have their roots and they should stick to those to a certain amount while they also evolve. Now that they have experimented with a softer and a heavier side, (as well as a medium between those two) they should be able to make a pretty standout record with originality written all over it. At least I hope so

I would love to see it sound like their earlier stuff, but I expect it to be more like Muertos Vivos which is fine with me because I love that album.

I hope they'd post some video updates rather than the ones with text with this album making as Tom's gf has been taking some of those sum41 studio updates. It would be pretty nice 'cause we have so few Gob video material(other than music videos) anyway. And alot of bands do that nowadays.

Their music is amazing, and everyone that listens to Gob likes it, but they don't do anything to grow their fan base. I understand them not wanting to "sell out" but posting videos would be a great way to bring back old fans and gain new ones. I know a lot of the fans from Foot In Mouth Disease and prior think that Gob is still broken up

I remember when there were news on Absolutepunk.net last autumn about that Gob's making a documentary then everyone was mostly wondering on the comments "what, they havent done anything in 5 years" and all. Oh well, Gob atleast posted 3 videos of the Banshee song video making process on Youtube so I think there's some hope that they'll post a video or two. Let's see

Now Tom said the recording is starting on March. Bummer... Well, atleast it seems like they're getting it out easier way than Muertos Vivos, they already have a label now(Aquarius), and if Tom has nothing to do with Sum 41's record at this moment anymore, Gob gets it finished before Sum 41's mini Europe tour starting on 18th April. I think the release day of the album could make it to late summer if everything goes well.

Gob surely can't promote themselves that well, but hey, they got us... Let's spread the word guys! And I also think that late summer is a quite realistic release date for the new album, and to be honest it's not too far away at all either.

Late summer would be awsome, I was expecting to have to wait a bit longer than that so this is great.

Late summer still feels so far away though Yeah. But remembering a wait of 4 and a half years for Muertos Vivos this isn't so bad. Hope Tom won't write and sing the whole album by himself, I would like some more songs written and sang by Theo than just one. Bully was for example one of the best songs on FIMD, more songs like that please (:

Yeah. But remembering a wait of 4 and a half years for Muertos Vivos this isn't so bad. Yea, I assumed that Gob was no longer together during that time period, all my favorite bands at the time, Gob, Treble Charger, and The Tea Party, were doing nothing new, so I thought all three were broken up.

Bully was for example one of the best songs on FIMD, more songs like that please (: I agree Bully was a great track, but if the whole CD was like that I would not have liked the CD as much, I think Tom should do the vast majority of the writing, but if Theo and Gabe wrote a couple that would be awesome and it would make the CD more diverse, and therefore better I think

Theo wrote the song "Face The Ashes" for Muertos Vivos but it wasn't really that great, but if he would make one or two fast heavy songs for the new record, it would sure be great. I'm pretty sure Theo wrote the heavy solos on Muertos Vivos, atleast it sounded like that. I don't know about Gabe's writing skills tho, in the Foot In Mouth cd booklet it says that they wrote the songs together. Don't know how much Craig did do to those songs also. And we'll see if the new bassist guy Steven Fairweather does some stuff on the record. He was in the band By A Thread before which was pretty solid group.
